Founded in 1946 by professor Leo Lehner:
- Since then one of the most famous choirs of Austria.
- The Chorvereinigung "Jung-Wien", consisting of more than 70 ladies and gentlemen, sings at numerous public events.
- Up to now, the biggest concerts took place in the Golden Hall of the Wiener Musikverein in Vienna.
- Almost every year, "Jung-Wien" also undertakes international concert tours.
- Up to now the choir did 64 tours to almost all European countries, Israel, Canada, twice to the USA and Minsk (Belarus).
- The musical palette comprises a wide range:
- Clerical and secular works from the classical period to modern age.
- Austrian and international music of all epochs and styles.
- The core, however, are the works of the golden and silver era: Strauß-dynasty,
Lehár, Ziehrer, Kálmán, Stolz etc., have priority in the programme of
performances in Austria and abroad.
- The special choir-arrangements of this music are the "brand-mark" of our choir.
- Not without reason the "logo" of the Chorvereinigung "Jung-Wien" is a combination
of "St. Stephen's Cathedral" and "The Blue Danube"!
